I said it wouldn’t last
and I was right.
Their marriage ended
after a rocky eight years
which is about what I predicted
and is about,
I realized,
what a healthy relationship should be
so all my early words of doom and gloom
and lowering of booms
were accurate, sure,
and absolutely irrelevant.

That’s what happens
when you’re completely right
and totally wrong
all at the same time.
