Retrain for Something New

Accept the daily grumbles,
the crumbling facade that everything’ll always be all right.
It won’t, but that’s all right.
You’ll find a way to cope
with what’s wrong.
You’re more resilient than you know.
You’ve just got to let it go.

Let your desperate grasping falter
let your need for control dissipate.
Let your iron will get soft, like clouds.
Do not take the bait.

Be a calm one.
Let it wash over you.
Be a cool one.
Take the time to feel.
Be restrained.
Take the time to heal.
Get retrained for something new.

Accept the problems as they come.
Do not deny that rain will fall.
Know that darkness comes, no matter what
death finds us all.
But you can still take it.
You’re more resilient than you know.
You’ve just got to let it go.
