Sea Level

There are times when you do not see the bad logic except in the rear mirror.

I first tried sushi
in a desert.

I was in Las Vegas
at a buffet
and it was there
that I thought it was best
to experiment with a new kind of food
so I picked up a random piece of sushi
sitting under the lights
who knows how long.

It tasted all right.

It is important to say
that I didn’t die after my first taste of sushi
– but I could have.
There were no adverse reactions at all,
in fact,
but what an unwise state of affairs.

I’m glad I wasn’t turned off to the whole experience
because then I wouldn’t have gone
to all the All You Can Eat sushi buffets afterward
and subsequently enjoyed all of their bathrooms
for such extended amounts of time!
